2014 Chardonnay: We strive to strike a balance between fruitiness and complexity in our wines. Our goal is to always express the fruit of our vineyard first; why work hard in the vineyard only to mask the true beauty with cellar practices.  The unique Spring Mountain District terroir produces Chardonnay fruit unlike anywhere else in the Napa Valley: aromas of white peach, nectarine and a distinctive flintiness. Once harvested, we selectively use the tools we have at our disposal as winemakers to shape and complement the wine; surlies aging, and French oak cooperage, both new and old.  Our 2014 Chardonnay is a full bodied wine with true varietal characteristics, hints of pear, kiwi, citrus, and apricots, and delicate undertones of oak and tropical fruits.  The body of the wine is rich and supple, filling the mouth with flavors.  The true nature of Spring Mountain Chardonnay comes through in the mineral character, more reminiscent of a classic Mersault than your typical California Chardonnay.  This wine is best served between 58°F and 65°F.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon:  2012 will go down in the books as one of the classic vintages. An ideal spring bud break, steady flowering, even fruit set and a lengthy stretch of warm but not to hot days presented beautifully flavored grapes. For our efforts, we have been rewarded with a rich, full-bodied Cabernet, deep in color.  The nose of the wine is lively with essences of dark berries, plum, dark chocolate,  and toasty oak.  The sweet, supple entry crescendos into a deeply intense middle; followed by a pleasant, velvety, lingering finish.

Our 2011 Dedication™ marks the ninhth release of our bordelaise project. This wine is a complex and fruity blend incorporating the four most common varietals used in this style of wine; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec.  Blending such a wine is one of the most fun and rewarding parts of a winemakers job.  On the nose, the 2011 Dedication™ offers rich blackberry, currant, plum and loads of jammy cherry with faint seasonings of dark chocolate, truffle oil, oak, coriandor, and minerals.  A velvety core of lush red fruit emerges from the ripeness of our small-berried hillside fruit.  This generously proportioned wine expands as it moves through the palate with a seemingly endless finish. Ultimately, what you’ll find is the classic Schweiger marriage of power and finesse. It’s hard for me  to figure out what is more fun, making this wine…or drinking it!
