This release is a lovely, silky, delicate and perfectly melded balance of our Cabernet Sauvignon and brandy, with flavors of cherries, plums, strawberries, and blackberries enveloped in toasty marshmallow, with a dusting of dried fruit and lavender. This is dessert on its own!
We first began making Port in 1997, always from our estate grown Cabernet grapes, and fortified with high quality brandy. However, after a trip to Portugal, winemaker Andy Schweiger developed a fondness for the growers and winemakers of the Duoro and Porto regions. Even though we are grandfathered in and legally allowed to call it “Port”, we no longer feel right using their legally-protected place name. Instead, we use the proprietary name of “Iteration”, continued with the use of Roman numerals. We only produce five barrels — to essentially satisfy our wine club… and the staff!
