After a trip to Portugal where Andy discovered the magic of White Port, he came home and experimented with our 2016 harvest. He combined fermenting Chardonnay juice with brandy and what resulted was an amazing dessert wine we named Napuro. The 2019 vintage has a dreamy perfume of baked pears and peaches, orange creamsicles, wild honeysuckle, marshmallow, and rose water.
Our Merlot has that intense mountain grape quality with a layered tannin backbone. This particular vintage is 100% varietal to showcase the layered black fruits you expect from a high elevation Merlot like blackberries and cherries with dark chocolate, but laced with the usual Schweiger Merlot notes of pomegranate, blueberry, and boysenberry.
Schweiger Cabernet Franc possesses an elegant floral and stone fruit bouquet, delightful acidity, and lingering charm. Notes of cherry, plum, and blackberry are brushed with cocoa powder, making it fit for a late lunch of miso-glazed duck or grilled salmon.
This is our twenty-fifth bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon. Every year showcases more maturity and evolution in both our vineyards and winemaking. Bright aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, blackberry, currants, and boysenberry preserves with a slight hint of nutmeg greet you in the glass. e velvety entry with sweet oak envelops the richly layered fruit. Juicy acidity and lingering berry notes mesh with complex tannins at the finish.
This vintage of our Bordeaux blend is layered with bright cherry, blackberry, oak, and cardamon. Every varietal carries the tune in this symphony. Structure comes from the Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Merlot brings colorful blue fruits of boysenberry and pomegranate. Cabernet Franc showcases its versatile dried herbs and soft tannins while Malbec presents zingy fruitiness and thick sticky tannins. The entry explodes with waves of fruit, including bright cherry, ripe raspberries, blackberries, and notes of oak and cassis. The midpalate finishes with mouthwatering acidity balanced by fruit and polished tannins.
