Fred and Sally met at Lowell High School in San Francisco. From quality custom construction to premium grape growing to running a family winery, they have always worked best as a team, taking pride in all their endeavors! Sally is probably the biggest fan of our Sauvignon Blanc, while Fred is partial to our 100% Cabernet Sauvignons—Gate Block and Montaire.
The son of Fred and Sally, Andy grew up in the vineyard working with family clearing and planting, and at the age of 16, he worked as a cellar rat for other local wineries. He has worked for several wineries in Napa and Sonoma County, and since year one, has been Winemaker for Schweiger Vineyards. On the rare occasion he has free time, Andy enjoys playing saxophone, cheering for the San Jose Sharks, and anything Disney!
Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Paula met Andy in high school while they were exchange students in Spain. In addition to helping out in the tasting room, Paula also teaches kindergarten here in St. Helena. She's an avid walker, loves reading, spending time with their two children, and quilting when she can find the time. You'll usually find her enjoying a glass of whatever Andy has decided pairs best with dinner. (Hopefully Dedication®!)
Originally from Nebraska, Napa was always a dream for Wendy and her husband Leo. In 2013, they made a home for themselves and their dogs, who were happy to settle down after 10 different moves across the country. Wendy's intention is to never trade in her current office view. When she's not working, Wendy's cooking and entertaining with a glass of her favorite bottle—Gate Block Cabernet Sauvignon.
Julia grew up in the East Bay surrounded by great food, which sparked her culinary interest at a young age. After high school, she studied Culinary Arts at Le Cordon Bleu, fell in love with wine while in the restaurant industry, and then studied wine business at Sonoma State. During her downtime, Julia enjoys a cocktail crafted by her mixologist-husband Oz and playing with her stepson Damian and dogs Dolly and Axl.
Nikki belongs to Fred and Sally and is usually the first face our guests see. You can find her posing for group photos, sporting her Schweiger bandana, or cooling off down in the cellar. The only thing Nikki loves more than showing good hospitality is begging for food.
The second retriever you'll find at the winery is Andy and Paula's dog, Ginny. Ginny is a sweetheart. Whereas Nikki loves food, Ginny loves the vineyard. Her favorite activities are swimming in the pond or looking for skunks and rabbits.
