VINTAGE AND WINEMAKER’S NOTES: Our estate vineyard is very uniquely situated in the Napa Valley. Nestled at the highest peak of the Spring Mountain District, our Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest elevation planted in our appellation.
According to Andy Schweiger, our winemaker, “I wanted to make a wine truly expressive of our our vineyard site. Justin Schuchardt, our (then) Assistant Winemaker suggested the Latin root Montare, suggestive of climbing and being the peak of the mountain. We took that name one step further; many visitors reflect on how clean and pure the air is here…resulting in “Montaire”.”
Our inaugural release of Montaire® possesses a jammy nose of blackberry, blueberry and cassis with a sweet and supple entry with a soft velvet mouth feel with full blackberry and cherry components with highlights of blueberry and pomegranate. The finish lingers in the mouth with focused tannins and balanced fruit and acidity.
